Forum: A New Era in Ageing for Forgotten Australians/Care Leavers
The National Aged and Community Care Roundtable for Forgotten Australians will partner with Wattle Place to host the “A New Era in Ageing for Forgotten Australians/Care Leavers” Forum in Sydney as part of 2025 International Care Experienced History Month.
The forum will be held in person on Tuesday 1 April at the Parramatta Town Hall, Parramatta, NSW, from 9am – 4pm.
The Keynote speaker will be Robert Fitzgerald AM, the Age Discrimination Commissioner who was also a Commissioner for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
The Forum will address the aged and community care challenges faced by Forgotten Australians and other Care Leavers. This event will bring together Forgotten Australians/Care Leavers, advocates, researchers, service providers, and policymakers to explore innovative solutions, and advocate for reforms that improve care quality and access. Outcomes from the forum will guide policy development, support advocacy efforts, and drive enhancements to aged care services for this community.
